I had so much fun traveling to Addis Ababa, Ethipia to photograph Martha and Teddy's wedding. Their pictures I will post little later. I had some free time on my hands, and used it to go around Addis, eat local food, met new people and even took some photos... First, a few words about Ethopia.
The people are very friendly, many of them knew some English, and would always start a conversation with me. Addis is one of the safest places in Africa, and I had no problems walking around even at night.
The traffic is just crazy! On a few different occasions I was almost sure we were going to crash or someone will drive into us. The most common car there is old soviet LADA! There are hundreds of them on the streets of Addis ( see photos )
The food is not bad, but some things takes a little getting used to ( like eating raw meat! )... I really liked the INJERA ( Ethiopian bread ) with lamb meat and some spicy souse... Their food is much like Indian food.
There is really no "downtown" in Addis :( Just a main street "Bole road" where the main businesses, restaurants and shops are located.
I was told there are many things to see outside the city, but I did not have enough time to travel out of Addis... Maybe next time? Here are some images...
The price tag of this beast is $10,000+ and it's hard to find one, I was told...

If I remember correctly - this is the body of Menelicks daughter. At 22, she got pregnant and had a child out of wedlock. She brought shame on her family and herself and she hang herself soon after giving birth.. The picture of her (above) was taken after her death.
