Sikh / Catholic fusion wedding in Seattle: Guneet & Cindy

As a wedding photographer, I have had the pleasure of photographing many beautiful weddings, but one recent one that stands out because of the vibrant colors of the venue and crazy dance party is the Interfaith wedding of Cindy and Guneet at the Seattle’s MoPOP.

Cindy, a devout Catholic, and Guneet, originally from India and a Sikh, decided to honor both of their cultures by having both a Catholic and Sikh ceremony. The Catholic ceremony was held at the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Seattle, while the Sikh ceremony was held at the Gurudwara Singh Sabha of Washington.

Cindy looked radiant in her white wedding gown during the Catholic ceremony, while Guneet wore a classic tuxedo. For the Sikh ceremony, Cindy changed into a traditional Sikh bridal outfit, while Guneet donned a traditional Sikh wedding attire.

The Catholic ceremony was a beautiful celebration of love, with the couple exchanging vows and rings in front of their loved ones. The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish provided a stunning backdrop for the photographs, and I was able to capture many beautiful moments that showcased the couple’s love for one another.

The Sikh ceremony was equally stunning, with traditional Sikh music and rituals. One of the most significant moments was the Anand Karaj, which means “blissful union.” It was a beautiful ceremony that brought tears to the eyes of the couple and their families.

After the ceremonies, the reception was held at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. It was a joyous celebration of the couple’s cultures, with a mix of both Indian and Western music, food, and dance. The couple’s families and friends danced the night away, and I was able to capture many candid moments of the couple and their guests.

Overall, Cindy and Guneet’s wedding was a beautiful representation of two distinct cultures coming together to celebrate love. As a photographer, it was an honor to be able to capture these special moments and create lasting memories for the couple and their families.
